The Draw Length Formula is:

Draw Length = Arm Span ÷ 2.5

Let’s apply this formula to an archer with an arm span of 70 inches:

Draw Length = 70 ÷ 2.5 = 28 inches

This calculation indicates that an archer with a 70-inch arm span would have an estimated draw length of 28 inches.

How to Measure Draw Length?

Arm Span Method: Stand with arms outstretched to form a “T” shape.

Measure from middle fingertip to middle fingertip.

Divide this measurement by 2.5.

Your arm span is 72 inches, your estimated draw length would be 72 ÷ 2.5 = 28.8 inches.

Wall Method: Stand perpendicular to a wall with your bow arm extended.Turn your head towards the wall as if aiming.Have someone mark the wall at the corner of your mouth.Measure from this mark to the end of your extended fist.

The measurement from the wall mark to your fist is 27.5 inches, this is your approximate draw length.
